TER HELL PLASTIC at FAKUMA 2009
Compounding: Investing in high-performance equipment at Herne, Germany and in China
Friedrichshafen / Herne, Germany, October 13, 2009 - The FAKUMA Plastics Tradeshow has become the second most important tradeshow in Germany for TER HELL PLASTIC GmbH (THPL) along with "K" in Düsseldorf. As part of its European activities, the company is looking forward to the opportunity to showcase its multifaceted distribution program as well as its most advanced proprietary TEREZ® compounds in Hall B 1 / Booth 1206.
Compounding set-up in China progressing at full speed
Despite the economic crisis, activities to set up compounding in Changshu, China, are progressing at full speed. For example, the joint venture TER ENGINEERING PLASTIC (Changshu) Ltd. recently ordered three extruders from Berstorff in Germany. Thanks to the proven technologies of the German equipment manufacturer, the high-quality requirements for producing TEREZ® products can also be met consistently when they are "Made in China." The joint company operates as a profit center for NCM Polymer Co. Ltd., the leading distributor for engineering plastics in China, and the 100 percent TER HELL PLASTIC subsidiary TER ENGINEERING PLASTIC Trading (Suzhou) Company Ltd. The production of specialty products for the Chinese market is scheduled to start up in May 2010 with a compounding capacity of approximately 3,000 metric tons a year.
High-performance compounders for Herne Headquarters
Despite the worldwide recession, TER HELL PLASTIC is investing in the future. With the acquisition of two new Berstorff twin-screw extruders for compounding, the company is placing its bets on the proven combination of innovative technology and solid reliability, thus further expanding its in-house production capabilities. A technology aggregate provides optimal requirements for the rapid and focused development of a broad spectrum of TEREZ® compounds. The first machine has been in operation since mid-2009 and has already proven itself in day-to-day operations. The second machine has been producing highest-quality proprietary standard compounds since August. Based on these recent technology investments, TER HELL PLASTIC believes it is well positioned for the technology needs of its customers for years to come.
